The new HOKA® Clifton PRO is now here. The latest evolution of one of the brand’s most iconic ranges offers a new daily training experience, designed for runners looking to clock up kilometres with greater efficiency, protection and dynamism.

Just ahead of their launch, some of HOKA’s leading athletes in Spain have already had the chance to try out this new model and all agree on one thing: the Clifton PRO represents a step forward in the training shoe category thanks to a smoother stride, more protective cushioning and a responsiveness that makes running feel easier.

The major technological leap in the new HOKA Clifton comes courtesy of PROGLIDE™+, a next-generation system that combines highly resilient SCF foam with a more aggressive version of HOKA’s signature MetaRocker™. The result is an extremely smooth and natural transition that helps you maintain your pace with less effort, promoting a more efficient and consistent stride. Furthermore, this new geometry absorbs impact whilst propelling the runner forward smoothly, offering a sense of control and dynamism that is hard to find in a daily training shoe.

Yago Rojo: 'You notice that little extra something that helps you run more easily'

An Olympic marathon runner and one of HOKA’s most prominent international athletes, Yago Rojo has found the Clifton PRO to be a great ally for high-volume training sessions and for those days when his legs need extra protection without compromising on efficiency.

“From the moment you put them on, you can tell the foam feels a bit different. It’s not a competition shoe, far from it, but it does offer that little bit of boost that helps you run more easily and finish with fresher muscles,” explains the Madrid-born runner. He also highlights that the Clifton PRO occupies a very interesting niche within the HOKA range: “I see them as the perfect complement between the Mach 7 and the Skyward X 2, two models I use for specific training runs. They’re a great option for days when you’re feeling tired or for long runs where you want to look after your legs without sacrificing a good pace.”

Andrea Romero: 'You feel very safe, but they’re still very reactive'

One of the most promising long-distance runners in Spanish athletics, Andrea Romero, has also incorporated the Clifton PRO into her training regime and particularly highlights the sense of protection they offer right from the very first kilometres.

I find them much better cushioned and with a very distinct feeling of protection, especially at the back of the foot. It’s a shoe that makes you feel very comfortable right from the start”, says the athlete. Alongside this increased cushioning, there’s another aspect that has particularly impressed her: “Despite being so protective, they’re still very responsive. You can use them for easy runs, but they also respond very well when you want to pick up the pace.

Run It Again

The launch of the Clifton PRO coincides with the launch of the global ‘Run It Again’ campaign, centred around a short film that captures the daily discipline and determination behind continuous improvement. The campaign presents the Clifton PRO as the ideal shoe for those who turn consistency into a competitive advantage.

Key features of the new Clifton PRO include:
  • New PROGLIDE™+ technology with high-performance SCF foam.
  • A more aggressive MetaRocker™ geometry for a faster, smoother transition.
  • Maximum cushioning with a dynamic and efficient running feel.
  • A lightweight, breathable technical mesh upper.
  • Outsole with Durabrasion Rubber compound for greater durability.
  • Reflective details for training in low-visibility conditions.
