PTL, the challenge that changes everything
The PTL (Petite Trotte à Léon) marks the start of this legendary week. In teams of two or three, runners must tackle an unmarked course that requires more than just physical strength; it demands strategy, navigation skills and, above all, team spirit.
For 151 hours, day and night, they traverse technical trails, alpine passes and changing conditions with one goal in mind: to return to Chamonix having given their all.
The UTMB spirit
The PTL is more than just the prelude; it is the spark that ignites the big week of trail running. In Chamonix, the atmosphere is unique, with streets filled with fans and brands presenting innovations, and above all, the global trail running community celebrating their sport.
The UTMB is not just a race; it is a shared experience that transcends borders, turning every step into history.
What's next: all the UTMB Mont Blanc events
Tras la PTL, será el turno de otras pruebas icónicas que completan la semana:
- OCC (Orsières – Champex – Chamonix) – At 55 km, this route is perfect for those new to the magic of the UTMB.
- CCC (Courmayeur – Champex – Chamonix) – With 100 km and 6,100 m of elevation gain, it is considered the ‘little sister’ of the UTMB.
- TDS (Sur les Traces des Ducs de Savoie) – A technical and very demanding 145 km route for experienced runners.
- UTMB (Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc) – 174 kilometres, the great challenge that brings together the world's best every year.
Although each race has its own unique characteristics and level of difficulty, they all share one thing in common: a passion for the mountains, a sense of community and the opportunity to take on personal challenges.
